Across Australia we are seeing WRAP campaigns to stop violence against women.  These campaigns are visualised by a White Ribbon to represent purity, safety, decency, etc.  What the Australian campaigners are failing to mention is that this is an American Christian idea and WRAP stands for White Ribbon Against Pornography.  In Australia, where we sell and display pornography to our children, allow our daughters to work as prostitutes and have TV standards that would land American broadcasters in jail, the campaigners are unsurprisingly leaving out the "Against Pornography" bit.

The campaigners want us to praise those who allow our daughters to work in the sex industry and praise those who refuse to protect children from unrestricted access to pornography and praise those who refuse to place simple restrictions on X-rated in the Territories (as already exist in ALL of our states).  Praising the wicked is to be an abomination, not a goal.

Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Sydney's Macquarie University says in the Sydney Morning Herald, "If visual imagery had no impact on human attitude or behaviour we would not have advertising campaigns."  The New Scientist, May 5 1990, in a cover story entitled "The Power Of Pornography" documents a how a 2% increase in porn sales equals a 1% increase in rape.  It also equates the rape rates with porn sales state by state across America.  Just like the cancer/tobacco link is now proven so too is the porn/rape link.  Italian medical journal Medicine, Mind and Adolescence says it is now time to move beyond the proven rape/porn link and look at some of the other damage caused by pornography.  It cites several international mega studies and says the rape/porn link is "clear and consistent".

Copy-cat crimes were reported across Australia after Penthouse published a "humorous" article on how to molest schoolgirls with the molesters seemingly following its instructions down to the letter.  Canadian prostitutes were objecting so much to the Johns forcing them into unwanted sex acts that the Canadian Frasier Commission on Pornography and Prostitution took protective steps.  "A Systematic Analysis of the Social Science Effects of Aggressive and Nonaggressive Pornography" by Drs Lyons and Larson included most, if not all of the peer-reviewed studies on pornography and found that pornography indeed had a causal impact on rape.  Director of Forensic Psychology at Monash University in Melbourne, Dr Don Thompson in an address to the Australian Criminal Justice Symposium quoted in Australian Family Physician Magazine says, "Pornography is causally related to sexually violent behaviour."  BTW in his seminal work "The Brain" Richard Restak found that it takes 3/10 of a second for a visual image to permanently imbed itself in the brain and will NEVER leave.

Inspector Sprague ran the Spectrum Task Force in Melbourne, the largest task force of its kind in Australian history, in an attempt to solve the abduction/molestation/murder Mr Cruel case.  He says he is "staggered" by the amount of porn in the community and is "convinced" there is a "strong link between pornography and the amount of sex crime we get."

NSW Police assistant commissioner Mark Murdoch warns, "Common sense would tell you there has to be a linkage between pornography and lack of respect in relationships between young people.  The high use of pornography by young men is astounding ... the highest users are [aged] between 14 and 25."  Sydney Morning Herald 7 Dec 2014.
