Looking back over the battles fought against those who finance and promote perversion in this country we are astonished by the successes we have seen. Every company we have listed in our newsletter, not some or most but EVERY company, have cancelled ads in Playboy and Penthouse magazines.
National and international companies like Budget Renta-Car, Westpac and Commonwealth Banks, American Express, Sunbeam Appliances, Qantas, Nissan (see p 4) and Toyota just to name a few. The largest retailers in this nation have also removed these smut sheets from their shelves because of our readers actions. Smut television networks produce a TV show for only one reason, to sell it to the advertisers. When the advertisers refuse to purchase ad time, the shows are dropped in the rubbish bin (where they probably belong).
AFF's nationwide letter writing campaigns and organised boycotts have proven to be very effective. Major national and international advertisers like Coca Cola, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Shell Oil, Just Jeans, Nissan, Hungry Jack's, David Jones Dept Stores, Target Stores, Honda, Apple Computers and too many others to mention have responded to our letters and removed ads from offensive and pornographic TV programming.
Several programmes, series and ads have all been cancelled. We even succeeded in banning X Rated material from Pay TV in Australia, a world first! Smut legislation AFF's PROJECT CHOICE legislation has been so well received that no retailer in Tasmania can display Penthouse magazine as they had for years. It is now illegal in Victoria to publicly display pornographic magazines or posters. Now that Goss was tossed in Queensland similar sensible laws will soon be passed prohibiting the smut pedlars from having unrestricted access to children in the Sunshine State. Several cities have begun PORN FREE zones. As we keep on in this 'winnable war' the entire nation of Australia will protect its small children from dangerous exposure to degrading pornographic imagery. Don't even try to tell us it cannot be done, we are busy doing it !!!
