The Weekend Australian Magazine (July 6 and 7, 2013) comments on the death of those in Australia falling victim to “synthetic drugs” sold through sex shops. Federal Authorities are playing “...‘catch-up’ with the new interim ban on the sale of 19 drugs sold through sex shops...”.
The Sex Shops are, in vain and at all costs, saying “to hell with the consequences” and trying to boost their profit due to sales lost through the Internet by selling these “legal highs”. The United Nations identified 33 new substances in Australia in the first half of last year. Never ones to shirk from their civic responsibility, the Sex Shops are eagerly selling these drugs to unsuspecting customers even though the end result could well be a horrible, madness induced, violent death. “Sex Shops” are, according to the article, “one of the main over-the-counter suppliers.” NSW Drug Squad Detective Superintendent Nick Bingham says, “The police have no handle on the size of the synthetic market” because it is legal.
AFF says just because something is legal doesn’t mean it is right. The taxpayer funding and subsidizing of the human pesticide (abortifacient) RU 486 is legal thanks to Mr Rudd, Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard, but it isn’t right. Abortion, our most common operation, the indiscriminate killing of our pre-born babies for matters of convenience or gender, is legal but not right. The sale of Penthouse magazine to children in Queensland is legal but not right. Just because homosexuals can now legally adopt children in Tasmania doesn’t make it right. A Sex Shop in your community may be legal but we live in a democracy where public outcry can change anything. We can only overcome evil by doing good, never by ignoring it.
These new “legal highs”, according to the Weekend Australian Magazine can produce “profound agitation, super-human violence, organ failure, and extremely high temperatures.” One poor man “purchased synthetic LSD from a sex shop.” His girlfriend then describes a “horror movie” including running around naked in terror, ambulances, Medics, police, bashing on doors, assaults and extreme violence. Sadly “he died after his temperature soared and his kidneys and liver failed. His brain swelled and when it had nowhere left to expand it squeezed down into his neck and cut off his blood supply.”
For God’s sake, please get others to join our campaign against this new proliferation of porn and death across Australia. Sex Shops have nothing good in them for you or your family or anyone else’s family. We have stopped Sex Shop applications, closed existing ones, garnered positive public sentiment and presented successful parliamentary submissions at local, state and federal levels and are eager to come to your area and encourage you to help us fight this “Winnable War”.
Action: Is there a Sex Shop in your area? Write a letter/send an email to your local Council and let them know this could happen in your town/city. Ask them to please act responsibly and take action to prohibit any kind of drug - even legal ones - being sold in your local sex shop. It’s not a chemist! Perhaps with this source of income gone some local Sex Shops will be forced to close. Let us know.
